The University of California, Santa Cruz is a Doctoral/Research University with operations centered on a 2,000-acre main campus. UC Santa Cruz also operates the Long Marine Laboratory, co-manages the University of California Lick Observatory at Mt. Hamilton, and the University Affiliated Research Center at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View. In addition, there are a number of off-campus locations throughout the Santa Cruz area.
