OVERVIEW
The Climate Registry offers a variety of tools & guidances that allow businesses and organizations to track their emissions, helping you become more efficient, sustainable, and accountable.
The Carbon Footprint Registry is North America’s most trusted GHG reporting program. We make it easier with our best-in-class guidance and tools, proprietary reporting software, optional third-party verification, help desk, and Climate Registered™ recognition program. We also offer sector-specific resources, such as our guidance and tools for small businesses.
The Water-Energy Nexus Registry empowers water agencies, local governments, and sectors with large water footprints to measure, track, and reduce the GHGs associated with California’s water system. It’s the first-ever voluntary registry for GHGs from the water-energy nexus, offering customized resources. Organizations with operations in California can join for free.
TCR is creating a global, cross-sectoral Net-Zero Portal to ratchet up global ambition and action on climate change. The portal will be a “one-stop shop” for information about carbon-neutral pledges and pathways. A diverse team of global experts is advising us during the development process to ensure the database is as useful as possible across countries and sectors.
The Climate Registry has developed a number of sector-specific optional guidance documents. These documents and supporting resources may be used in conjunction with TCR’s General Reporting Protocol when reporting to TCR’s corporate voluntary reporting program.
Our protocols outline best practices in greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting and our voluntary reporting program requirements. Each protocol is developed by achieving a consensus among industry, environmental and government stakeholders. Protocols also go through a rigorous public comment period before adoption.
TCR has two programs, Climate RegisteredTM and Water-Energy Leaders, to recognize our members who are leaders in GHG reporting and emissions reduction. These programs aim to promote and highlight the exceptional work that our members are doing to reduce their impact on climate change.
