University of California, Santa Cruz

The University of California, Santa Cruz is a Doctoral/Research University with operations centered on a 2,000-acre main campus. UC Santa Cruz also operates the Long Marine Laboratory, co-manages the University of California Lick Observatory at Mt. Hamilton, and the University Affiliated Research Center at NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View. In addition, there are a number of off-campus locations throughout the Santa Cruz area. UC Santa Cruz has over 14,000 students enrolled in 2009. It employs about 4,000 faculty and staff. UC Santa Cruz has grown substantially over the past decade and the 2005 Long Range Development Plan projects an enrollment of 19,500 by 2020.
